Let me correct myself. It is possible to embed a video on the code4lib site. You can see an example here: http://code4lib.org/conference/2013/ronallo When editing the page the input format (in a dropdown section of the page) needs to be changed to "Full HTML". The video is pulled from IA, which with a quick look seems to favor MP4 and OGV. These two codecs would also cover all modern browsers. (I just have come to prefer WebM.)
