The NDSA regional meetings are a recent idea to share NDSA partner work more broadly outside of the meeting in DC in July each year.

The meetings are chaired by volunteer NDSA members who have made the local arrangements and developed the programs.

With that in mind, we'd help support any NDSA members interested in hosting an NDSA regional meeting.

(sorry for broad posting) But are there ever any West Coast regional events? I'd be interested (but shall fly out for east coast when possible)...

An FYI for those non-NY organizations that may be in NYC in June. See below for the "save the date" email for the NDSA regional event planned for NYC on Friday June 14, 2012.

Also note a similar upcoming event in Boston on Friday May 10, 2013.
More
information on that event is here:

Hello,

The National Digital Stewardship
Alliance<http://www.digitalpreservation.gov/ndsa/> (NDSA), an initiative of the National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program (NDIIPP) of the Library of Congress, will be holding a series of regional events in 2013.

On June 14, 2013, Metropolitan New York Library Council will be hosting the New York regional event. This email serves as a “save the date” for organizations in the New York region that are NDSA members or have partnered with NDIIPP on digital preservation initiatives and may be interested in attending.

The event will be an excellent opportunity to highlight NDSA projects, feature the work of member organizations, and foster collaboration and dialogue around digital stewardship topics. A Library of Congress staff person will be attending and non-NDSA members will be encouraged to attend.

Date: Friday, June 14, 2013
Time: Full-day event (10am-4pm or so)
Location: Metropolitan New York Library Council, 57 E. 11th Street, 4th Fl., New York NY 10003

More details will be forthcoming. If you are not the primary NDSA/NDIIPP contact for your organization, please pass this notice along to the appropriate individual or provide me with their contact information and I will add them to future emails.

Feel free to contact me with any questions and I will be in touch with more information as the event approaches. Hope to see you in June!

Best,
Jefferson
