Salary and Terms: Assistant Professor; full-time, nine
month* tenure-track position. Salary placement is based on
evaluation and experience. Date of appointment is August
2013.

Position Description: Responsible for critical pieces of
the collection life cycle (selection, acquisitions, licensing, weeding,
preservation) specifically, responsible for ordering and receiving all library
materials including processing and reconciliation of payments, preparing
appropriate reports and statistics, and monitoring the materials budget using
the ALEPH Acquisitions and Serials modules. Manages and maintains electronic
resources including A-Z list, link resolver, EZ Proxy, and
ERM. Manages relationships with vendors, publishers and
interface providers, and responsible for monitoring licensing and negotiating
with vendors. The librarian is expected to participate in
committees and projects within the library and beyond and to be actively
engaged in the profession in order to identify emerging trends, practices, and
standards that have potential for new and improved collection and e-resources
management. The librarian will participate in the library's
instruction program, providing instruction sessions as
requested. Shared Reference duties will include some
weekend, evening, and summer session hours.

  
Qualifications:

  
Required Qualifications:

  
Masters in Library Science, ALA-accredited

3 years post MLS experience in an academic library

Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills

Instruction experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  
Experience with acquisitions and electronic resources management within ILS
acquisitions and serials module

Experience dealing with vendors

Experience working with an ERM (electronic resource
management system) and linker software

Experience with MnPALS and Minitex,

Instruction experience

Supervisory experience

Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects

Demonstrated evidence of initiative and self-direction

Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
