The Learning Commons (LC) Resident Librarian serves a two-year appointment. We

This is an entry level, temporary, 24 month, benefits eligible position.

  
Qualifications

  
MLS (ALA accredited) or equivalent combination of education and experience is
required.

  
Job Specific Qualifications

  
Master's degree in library or information science from an ALA accredited
institution

  
Evidence of strong interest and success with emerging information technologies

  
Demonstrated interest in developing a career in academic librarianship

  
Evidence of commitment to strong user centered customer service

  
Adaptability and tolerance for ambiguity in a rapidly changing environment

  
Evidence of exceptional interpersonal skills, including ability to effectively
communicate with diverse staff and users

  
  
Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of the Learning Commons, the LC Resident Librarian
provides core services including reference, instruction, and staff training.
This Resident Librarian will also create and develop an innovative project in
the Learning Commons, which will include project management, facilitation of a
work team, advertising, and assessment.

  
Resident Librarians also contribute in one or more of the following areas:

  
Innovative and effective use of social media

  
Outreach, liaison, and advertising

  
Instructional design and assessment

  
Emerging technologies and service innovation

  
Assessment of services, spaces, user behavior and needs

  
Planning and development of LC programs and facilities

  
Other duties as assigned
