Loyola Law School Los Angeles opened its doors in 1920. Located in downtown
Los Angeles - a legal, financial and media capital - Loyola Law School is home
to prominent faculty, dedicated students and cutting - edge programs. The
first ABA-approved law school in California with a pro bono requirement for
graduation, Loyola Law is committed to legal ethics and the public interest,
and has produced top attorneys for nearly a century.

  
Reporting to the Head of Library Computing Services, the Electronic
Resources/Systems Librarian will administer and manage the Integrated Library
System (ILS from Innovative Interfaces) and all other library systems. The
systems librarian will work with library, law school IT and vendor staff to
ensure the satisfactory operation of all library systems and assist the Head
of Library Computing Services with technology planning and project planning.

  
The person will help to staff the computer lab help desk including some
scheduled evening and weekend help desk staffing.

  
Educational Requirements:

  
Typically a Bachelor's degree and a Master's of Library Science degree,
M.L.I.S., or M.S.I.S., or equivalent degree from an A.L.A. approved program.

  
Minimum Qualifications:

  
Library experience highly preferred.

  
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Possess computer proficiency and the ability to master
common word processing and spreadsheet programs, particularly Microsoft Word
and Excel. Experience in developing and maintaining web presence including the
WebPAC. Familiarity with WAM, digital library tools and standards, RSS Web 2.0
etc. Familiarity and experience with Innovative Interfaces ERM and link
resolver products. Knowledge of HTML and graphic design tools preferred. Must
have the ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff and
administrators. Effectively interact with people from diverse backgrounds,
cultures and ethnic groups. Effective interpersonal and communication skills
to create successful partnerships with faculty, students, and staff. Excellent
customer service skills. Exemplary communication skills (both written and
oral). Ability to analyze, assess, evaluate, identify problem and take
initiative to resolve. Good organizational skills are required to manage
multi-faceted workload, which is often unpredictable and urgent. Must be able
to resolve conflicts that may arise among students and/or staff. Manage
multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines, often with competing
priorities and fluctuating workloads. Design and implement policies for
effectuating both short and long range plans. Maintain clear and current
records and statistic with keen attention to detail.
