The American Library Association seeks a Program Officer, Continuing Education
for its Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) division. Reporting
to the Executive Director you will manage the division's continuing education
program, conferences, National Institute, and special projects as needed.
Coordinate the planning, marketing, implementation, and evaluation of all
division continuing education programs, including e-learning, face-to-face
programs, professional development activities. Work with member committees,
instructors, curriculum developers, business contacts, ALSC staff and others
as appropriate to successfully implement and execute ALSC's continuing
education program. Starting salary range negotiable from the high 30s; based
on experience. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in education, communications,
or related field. Familiarity with the library and information services field
is a plus. Demonstrated success of at least 3 years in planning and
implementing adult education programs in associations or comparable setting
and experience developing distance education or web-based CE programs is
required. Must have the ability to work in an environment of multiple projects
and shifting priorities. Evidence of project management experience and
familiarity with revenue-based budgets. Intermediate to advanced proficiency
in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Drupal, InDesign,
Dreamweaver, Flash, and PHP are pluses.
