Position Description

  
Reporting to the Associate University Librarian for Information Technology and

Discovery Services, the Technical Services Coordinator will provide broad

oversight and leadership for the technical infrastructure, processes, and

metadata that facilitate discovery of library collections. This position will

collaborate with library staff responsible for information technology and

collection development/management to make research resources accessible in all

formats to the academic community and beyond. This position will also

contribute to library involvement in consortial projects and programs such as

CARLI, the Center for Research Libraries, the Catholic Research Resources

Alliance, and the Chicago Collections Consortium. The Technical Services

Coordinator may serve as a liaison librarian in assigned areas.

About the DePaul University Library

  
The DePaul University Library comprises the John T. Richardson Library
(Lincoln

Park Campus), the Loop Campus Library (Loop Campus), and library service

programs provided at DePaul's three suburban campuses. With an annual budget

of over $10 million in 2013-14, 33 professional librarians, and a total staff

complement of over 70 FTE, the DePaul University Library is a partner in a

number of campus programs, including the first-year experience (Chicago

Quarter) and the Teaching Commons. In 2013, a major renovation of the

Richardson Library will facilitate the launch of the Richardson Library

Information Commons, a technology-enhanced space including individual, group,

and collaborative work spaces, a Learning Commons and Scholar's Lab. The

DePaul University Library is housed in the Division of Teaching and Learning

Resources, which includes the DePaul Art Museum and Faculty Instructional

Technology Services, and is an active member of local, regional, and national
