Seeking an individual with a background in taxonomy, data management, knowledge management and music to create a taxonomy for us to use in a new digital asset management system. We're looking for someone with: Thorough knowledge of taxonomy creation, including meta-data, content classification, controlled vocabularies, and open tagging systems; Strong analytical and problem solving skills; Strong communication skills; Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. RESPONSIBILITIES: In collaboration with internal partner groups, develop a college-wide standard for taxonomy and metadata for all digital college assets; Define and implement standards and processes for taxonomy development, maintenance of centralized schemas, and metadata management; Define the requirements of business and technical teams for taxonomy, metadata, and classification management; Drive technical requirements for a taxonomy and classification tool. Cover Letter required to be considered for position Required Skills 6-8 years experience in Taxonomy; Experience implementing taxonomies in enterprise content management systems and with taxonomy and thesauri management software preferred; Knowledge of metadata standards: MARC, Dublin core, EAD, MODS, METS, VRA, TEI, PREMIS, Prism, IPTCcore and extension.
