Head, Discovery and Technology Services Queen's University Kingston Queen's University Library invites applications for the position of Head, Discovery and Technology Services. This is a continuing-track appointment and is available immediately. **Description** Reporting to an Associate University Librarian, the Head of Discovery and Technology Services provides leadership and direction in the planning, development, delivery and ongoing assessment of high quality services in the Library's Discovery and Technology Services Division (DTS). DTS is responsible for a set of interrelated services, systems and tools connecting users with information resources and services. To facilitate ongoing access to rich and varied print and electronic collections and to provide clear, accessible information about Library services, the Head provides Library-wide leadership for user experience design, web development, digital initiatives, current and next generation electronic and print resource management, and the Library's hardware and software infrastructure. The Head offers support and technical expertise to the Library, and is actively engaged in hands-on development and delivery of user centered technology services, evaluating the transformative opportunities in our changing information landscape and implementing new approaches to meet the constantly evolving needs of a diverse learning and research user community. The Head actively collaborates with Library partners on campus and in the initiatives of the Ontario Council of University Libraries. The Head provides leadership and direction for DTS staff, fosters a collegial and productive environment, facilitates open discussion and a shared understanding of goals, consults and collaborates with other units and divisions within Queen's University Library, provides advice to the Office of the University Librarian and promotes the vision of a team-based learning organization. Responsibilities will evolve as the Library continues to develop and restructure in support of the University's strategic priorities.
