Apologies for cross-posting. Code4Lib Edmonton would like to invite you to an evening of library technology lightning talks. When: 6:30pm - 9:00pm, Thursday, November 21, 2013. Where: The Edmonton Room, Stanley Milner Branch, Edmonton Public Library. (7 Sir Winston Churchill Square, Edmonton) Each presentation will be ten minutes long, and will cover a range of topics. We will start the evening off with a tour of the new Edmonton Public Library Makerspace at 6:30, and start the lightning talks at 7:00. Following the lightning talks, there will be opportunity for questions and discussion. The presentation topics are as follows: - 3rd Party Library APIs for Library Programming - Minecraft and Raspberry Pi - Early adoption of Serials Solutions’ Summon 2.0 - EPL's MeCard - Libraries as APIs: a digital humanities perspective - Using OpenRefine to Tame your Data - D3 Visualization and Twitter - Integrating eReserves in an academic library - The Sinatra web framework for Ruby The Code4Lib community is a group of computer programmers and library technologists who largely work for and with libraries. Code4Lib Edmonton began in the summer of 2013 with a view to bringing together library technologists from Edmonton and the surrounding area.
