Texas A&M University Libraries seeks a talented and dynamic professional to
join the Texas A&M University Libraries in the new position of System
Libraries Resource Development Director. This is a non-
tenure track "clinical" faculty position with appointment at the rank of
Clinical Associate Professor or above. Successful
candidates will be expected to have engagement in professional service
activities, consistent with the Libraries' and University's requirements for
promotion.

  
Reporting to the Dean of the University Libraries and working in the
Information Resources unit in the Evans Library & Library Annex on the main
campus of Texas A&M University, the System Libraries Resource Development
Director is responsible for the licensing and subscription management of
electronic resources for the Texas A&M University System Library Consortium
(TAMU System Library Consortium). This position provides leadership for the
review and negotiation of cooperative agreements for electronic resources. In
consultation with TAMU Libraries, Contracts Administration, and the Office of
General Counsel, the System Libraries Resource Development Director reviews
and negotiates digital resources licenses to ensure compliance with
established federal and state guidelines, including copyright and
accessibility guidelines. Responsibilities include investigating and comparing
vendor products and offers, establishing and maintaining effective vendor
relations, and maintaining an Electronic Management System for cooperative
agreements. This position also manages the setup and maintenance of access
records for existing and new cooperative agreements and is responsible for
resolving electronic resources access issues and communicating with system
libraries, vendors, and publishers regarding such issues. The librarian in
this position is a member of the TAMU Libraries' Electronic Resources
Licensing Team and supervises a staff member, who is responsible for
maintaining shared instances in the link resolver.
