Director of the Digital Learning Center and Instructional Designer (Full-time)

The Director & Instructional Designer will develop and lead an innovative, multidisciplinary program of digital studies at Schreiner University while also helping to create course-level and/or program-level curricular resources for traditional face-to-face as well as online/hybrid instructional environments. Center assessment will include evidence of improved student learning. As the instructional leader of the CDL, the Director is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a library of digital projects and products for the humanities as well as other areas of study across campus. Working closely with project teams (which will include students, faculty, librarians and specialists in assessment, digital publication, social science data, user services technology, and digital humanities), the Director collaboratively selects projects and sets priorities, serves as curator of the digital Hispanic Heritage and Culture project, develops contacts with faculty from across the University and showcases work online and annually at an exhibit at the Schreiner's Mansion.

We seek a colleague with an active record of research or production in areas of digital humanities who is interested in pedagogy and is committed to enhancing students' learning experiences by involving students and faculty across campus in new applications of instructional design and digital research. This position may expect to teach up to one class a semester in a disciplinary field or in the general education program. This full-time, 12 month position will begin May 2014.

This position is being created and funded as part of a HEA Title V DHSI (Developing Hispanic Serving Institutions) grant and planned for permanent post-grant continuation.
