A DuraSpace Solutions Webinar: "The National Agenda for Digital Stewardship: Coordinated National Planning for Preserving Our Shared Digital Assets" Wednesday, January 15, 2014 1:00 - 2:00p.m. Eastern DuraSpace is pleased to announce its latest DuraSpace Solutions webinar, "The National Agenda for Digital Stewardship: Coordinated National Planning for Preserving Our Shared Digital Assets" presented by Butch Lazorchak, digital archivist in the National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program at the Library of Congress. The presentation provides an overview of the 2014 Agenda, touching on the importance of collaborative effort among the National Digital Stewardship Alliance's 130 members in its development and implementation. The DuraSpace organization is a proud contributor to and supporter of the NDSA 2014 National Agenda for Digital Stewardship because we, like the leading government, academic, and private sector organizations who are part of the NDSA and are also members of DuraSpace communities, believe that preserving our intellectual, cultural and scientific heritage is vital. The aim of the National Agenda for Digital Stewardship is to highlight emerging technological trends, identify gaps in digital stewardship capacity, and to provide funders and decision-makers with insight into the work needed to ensure that today's valuable digital content remains accessible and comprehensible in the future. A coordinated national approach to the preservation of our shared digital assets serves us all by supporting a thriving economy, a robust democracy, and a rich cultural heritage. The 2014 National Agenda for Digital Stewardship integrates the perspective of dozens of experts and hundreds of institutions, convened through the Library of Congress, to identify the highest-impact opportunities to advance the state of the art; the state of practice; and the state of collaboration within the next 3-5 years.
