Major Open Data Collections Project Manager

The Role

  
The QUT Major Open Data Collections Project Manager will be responsible for
managing the delivery of a priority set of described and openly available
spatial research data collections. Data descriptions will be made available
via the Australian National Data Service (ANDS) Research Data Australia
service. Datasets will be stored on a combination of QUT and Queensland Cyber
Infrastructure (QCIF) QRIScloud storage infrastructure.

  
The position will require project management experience and qualifications
equivalent to the Certificate IV in Project Management and a sound
understanding of the relevant business requirements.

  
Service improvement will be a key component of the QUT Major Open Data
Collections Project's activity and the Project Manager will work closely with
subject experts at the University to ensure that an integrated approach is
taken to the development and release of the new service.

  
Communication with stakeholders will also be important in the Project's
development and implementation cycle. The Project Manager will need to adopt
an inclusive and consultative approach to ensure that all stakeholder
requirements are considered and their expectations are well managed.

  
Collaboration with external parties such as vendors will be
required. There will be some procurement activity that will
be conducted in line with QUT's standards and policy.
