Library Support Coordinator

The Library Support Coordinator for YU Global will report to the Vice Provost
for Teaching and Learning. The LSC will take a leadership role in developing
policies and procedures pertaining to students, faculty, and course developers
affiliated with YU Global programs, and will provide service to these same
individuals, while working in collaboration with library administrators and
staff.

  * Collaborate with faculty members, course developers, and others associated with online programs to provide research assistance, reference materials, or related content for courses or course-work;
  * Provide guidance and information related to copyright issues to faculty members, course developers, and others associated with online programs;
  * Develop instructional materials including guides and tutorials;
  * Create content for web pages designated for online programs and students;
  * Teach online synchronous and asynchronous sessions related to use of library resources;
  * Provide appropriate technical support for use of library resources;
  * Perform assessment of library online learning program initiatives.


  * Graduate degree required;
  * Master of library and information science degree from an American Library Association accredited program, preferred;
  * Experience with virtual reference tools and online course management/learning management systems;
  * Knowledge of current and emerging trends in instructional technologies and enthusiasm for implementing new technologies;
  * Knowledge of copyright issues, both in general and specifically within the context of online courses;
  * Familiarity with usability, user feedback, and user experience literature;
  * Demonstrated ability to design and teach skills related to use of library resources, preferably in both online and face to face environments;
  * Experience providing both research and technical assistance to individual students and faculty
  * Ability to adapt well to change and the flexibility to apply new solutions to rapidly changing expectations.
