The Boeing Company Library has an exciting and unique opportunity for a
friendly and tech-oriented librarian to help us implement innovative, cutting-
edge library services. You will join a motivated and diverse team of library
professionals tasked with delivering digital services to Boeing's wide array

REQUIRED: We are looking for an individual with experience in and knowledge of
Library, Information Science, or Information Management principles, practices,
and systems. Soliciting and analyzing customers' information needs,
communicating and presenting information professionally and effectively, and
advocating for library services are all necessary components of the job.
Candidates must be able to apply principles of information architecture (IA)
and user experience (UX) to library websites, systems, repositories, and
customer-driven projects in order to gather, organize, filter, and deliver the
right information in the right amount to the right user at the right time.
Additionally, candidates should have some demonstrated experience with
learning and applying technical skills; this means having some understanding
of, and interest in, web and object-oriented programming, and relational
databases. Finally, the successful candidate must be able to work in
collaborative, individual, and virtual environments.

  
  
PREFERRED: Experience in programming with languages like Java, JavaScript, and
Perl is preferred, but not required. Demonstrated ability to become proficient
with new web-based technologies (frameworks, databases, APIs) and semantic
technologies is highly desired. Also preferred is a familiarity with creating
and maintaining controlled vocabularies of concepts and their relationships
using industry tools and standards.

**TYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE**  
  
Level 2 - Bachelor's degree and typically 3 or more years' related work
experience, a Master's degree and typically 1 or more years' related work
experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  
Level 3 - Bachelor's and typically 6 or more years' related work experience, a
Master's degree and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an
equivalent combination of education and experience.
