Systems Librarian Town of Mansfield, Connecticut Mansfield, CT Mansfield Public Library Systems Librarian Public Library & Information Technology Departments The Town of Mansfield, Connecticut is seeking applicants for our full-time Systems Librarian position. Under the direction of the Public Library and Information Technology Department Heads, this position serves as the first line of support for the use of electronic resources and library technologies. The Systems Librarian provides leadership and expertise in the development, implementation, maintenance, and use of technology by library staff and the public. Sample duties include: computer management and troubleshooting; planning and implementation of new technology; routine security and hardware maintenance; creating and maintaining the library's website and social media. Position is full-time with a 35 hour work week. Hiring rate is $55,728-$59,950 per year with a comprehensive benefits package including a defined benefit retirement plan. Hiring rate is dependent upon the selected candidate's qualifications and experience. Candidates are required to have a master's degree in library science or a related field (or MLIS degree/related degree conferred by December 2014) supplemented by experience with developing, implementing, and maintaining library technologies. Familiarity with computer systems, experience with web site management highly desirable. Public library experience is preferred. The selected candidate will be subject to a background check.
