It's quite an improvement from storing the passwords in an Excel spreadsheet. * There's no 2 factor authentication. For authentication, we added phpCAS [https://wiki.jasig.org/display/casc/phpcas]. * It uses categories instead of groups, but the developer mentioned that groups may be added in a future release. * Users can be added or removed from a category as necessary. * We host it on a local server.
