Archives Intern Pixar Emeryville Pixar Animation Studios, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, is an Academy Award®-winning film studio with world-renowned technical, creative and production capabilities in the art of computer animation. Creator of some of the most successful and beloved animated films of all time, including "Toy Story," "Monsters, Inc.," "Cars," "The Incredibles," "Ratatouille," "WALL•E," "Up," "Toy Story 3," "Brave," and "Monsters University," the Northern California studio has won 30 Academy Awards® and its films have grossed more than $8.7 billion at the worldwide box office to date. "Inside Out," Pixar's fifteenth feature, will be release on June 19, 2015. This position provides research and processing support to the Pixar Living Archives. You'll support Pixar's Living Archives by helping to archive assorted materials (paintings, drawings, pastels sculptures, etc…) from our animated films. General Duties and Responsibilities: Feature Film Processing Project: * Organize materials created by feature film art and story departments * Re-folder, label and prepare inventory of files Other Tasks May Include: * Updating records in archives collections databases * Projects related to the care of pastels, paintings, maquettes * Supporting archivists by moving collections between buildings and to/from clients in the studio Background, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required at Minimum: * Completion of archives track or indexing coursework is desirable * Experience working with archival collections a plus * Flexible nature with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks/activities simultaneously * Excellent people skills with strong verbal and written communication skills * Strong administrative, detail and follow-up skills * Computer literacy (ideally Mac proficiency); database skills a plus * Creative problem-solving skills, curiosity and motivation * Must have a car, valid California Drivers License, & proof of current automobile insurance * Open to current students and recent grads (within one year of graduation) * Position is paid * Supervised by ALA accredited professionals Brought to you by code4lib jobs: http://jobs.code4lib.org/job/16799/ To post a new job please visit http://jobs.code4lib.org/
