> It seems to me that you cold accomplish most, if not all, of what you want with a good deployment recipe. Perhaps this is in fact what we are looking for: https://www.getchef.com/chef/. It allows you to set up an OS in a standardized and re-usable way. It would be much more feasible to have a repo of library-related "recipes" that allow us to have a standard, automated process for setting up common library applications (primarily thinking server here but client is also imaginable).
