Still looking, but saw this on The Signal today http://archiveguide.witness.org/ made by the organization WITNESS

WITNESS, the human rights advocacy organization, has become expert in communicating complex technical information in a simple manner.  WITNESS empowers people by teaching them how to use video as a tool to document human rights abuses and how to preserve digital video so they can use it to corroborate their story when the time is right. Their audience — who may or may not be technologically savvy –  often comes to WITNESS in times of crisis, when they need immediate expertise and guidance.

Subject: [NDSA-CONTENT] Wednesday meeting canceled + content creator resources "to do"

Dear CWG:

We are cancelling this Wednesday’s CWG meeting, but have an “ask” for all of you:

Building on our discussion in last month's call, we would like to propose that instead of meeting at our regular time this Wednesday, November 5, members spend a bit of their time (ideally, that day) making recommendations for URLs to add to a resource page on working with content creators.  We can reach out to other NDSA working groups for their ideas, too.  If successful, the CWG can organize recommended resources into a guide that can be shared more broadly with the digital preservation community.

Some examples shared in our last call include:

--The Stanford Digital Library Blog post that introduces the guidance on Web site archivability at https://library.stanford.edu/blogs/digital-library-blog/2014/09/guidance-building-archivable-websites.

--POWRR Project (Preserving Objects With Restricted Resources) guidance at http://powrr-wiki.lib.niu.edu/index.php/One_Pagers_tailored_to_educate_different_professionals

Have you seen some good guidance for working with content creators around the Web?  If so, please share on the listserv!

In terms of other updates, hopefully all of you saw that the Web Archiving Survey was launched at last. Many thanks (clap clap clap) to the team that pulled the report together and performed the analysis, and to those of you who reviewed the report near the end. http://blogs.loc.gov/digitalpreservation/2014/10/results-from-the-2013-ndsa-u-s-web-archiving-survey/

Our next meeting with be December 3 at 11am ET.

Thanks!
Abbie and Christie
