Participants from NDSA member organizations are invited to join the demo and discussion of CERP ( ) with Riccardo Ferrante and Lynda Schmitz Fuhrig. Ricc is the Director of Digital Services and IT Archivist at the Smithsonian Institution Archives. Lynda is the electronic records archivist there. This is the second in a series of demos and presentations to showcase tools available for processing and assessing email archives.

Description: CERP (Collaborative Electronic Records Project) resulted in a parsing tool and XML preservation schema that can be applied to proprietary email at the account level. Ricc and Lynda  will give an overview of the  project by discussing the roles of acquisition, appraisal, record creators, context and manageability. The presentation also will include a demonstration of the parser and discussion of next steps.
