Good afternoon,

I'm pleased to announce the release of a report about the results of the 2014 DPOE Training Needs Assessment Survey. This past summer you helped get the word out about the survey to your constituents, and their participation helped make the survey a success. I have attached a copy of the report, and an executive summary, for your perusal. I also wanted to be sure the survey participants had the opportunity to view these before they are released to the broader community, and wonder if you could forward these on through your communication channels. Below I have included a subject line and message body for distribution.

I will be out of the office until January 5th, so if you have any questions in the meantime, please contact Barrie Howard, [log in to unmask]. Thank you for your help, and happy holidays.

All the best,

Results of the 2014 DPOE Training Needs Assessment Survey

<body/>

Season’s Greetings DPOE Advocate!

With your participation, the Library of Congress Digital Preservation Outreach and Education (DPOE) Program wrapped up the 2014 DPOE Training Needs Assessment Survey in September. The survey gives the program a sense of your current digital preservation practice, a better understanding about what capacity you and your organization have to effectively preserve digital content, and some insight into your and your organization's training needs.  An executive summary and full report about the survey results are attached to this message for your perusal.

You and others have expressed an overwhelming concern for making accessible your digital content for at least a ten-year horizon, and showed strong support for educational opportunities, like the DPOE Train-the-Trainer Workshop, which provides training to working professionals like you, and increases your organization's capacity to provide long-term access to that digital content.

The report is being shared with you first, as we value your participation in helping make this survey a success. Shortly there will be a blog post about the survey published on The Signal, available from http://blogs.loc.gov/digitalpreservation/

Again, thank you for your support of the program.

Kind regards,
