Senior UNIX Systems Administrator Virginia Tech Blacksburg Virginia Tech's University Libraries are searching for a Senior UNIX Systems Administrator. The Senior UNIX Systems Administrator will help the University Libraries build out and manage a new infrastructure for UNIX services, an infrastructure that relies on a firewall/load balancer, Linux servers using containerization technology such as Docker, and networked storage mirrored to a second location. The position is not a management position, but will work with our existing UNIX Systems Administrator to make existing services more manageable through monitoring and configuration management tools. The Senior UNIX Systems Administrator is expected to be able to investigate complex technical problems, identify possible solutions, and implement those solutions.
