Director of Technology

Reporting directly to the Dean of LSU Libraries, the Director of Technology is
responsible for the strategic development of the Libraries information
technology operations including creating innovative and effective strategies,
administering the IT units and participating in the highly collaborative,
dynamic executive group devoted to imagining and then creating a world-leading
21st century research library.

  
STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT (40%): Creates innovative and effective strategies to
support the Libraries' information technology (IT) operations, including web
and application development and support, server administration, data
management, usability testing, and desktop support. Applies broad knowledge of
technological trends, especially as they apply to learning.

  
DIVISION ADMINISTRATION (30%): Administers the Libraries' IT units, providing
oversight for recruitment, staff deployment and development. Adapts
organizational structures to meet changing needs. Develops goals, and then
supplies administrative support to reach them.

  
LIBRARY ADMINISTRATION (30%): Participates in a highly collaborative, dynamic
executive group devoted to imagining and then creating a world-leading 21st
century research library.

  
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a computer
related field. Six years of progressively responsible research library
experience. Successful supervisory experience, excellent
interpersonal/communication skills.

  
Desired Qualifications: Advanced degree in Computer Science or a computer
related field.
