CSBS 2015 Summer Intern Program (Conference of State Bank Supervisors,
District of Columbia)

The Conference of State Bank Supervisors offers a summer internship program
for undergraduate
and
Internships generally operate for a six week period. The
specific dates of the internship are agreed upon by the intern and the
responsible CSBS staff person. Interns are assigned to a specific area of
CSBS. The work is generally project based with the intern
expected to deliver a final product at the end of the
internship. All interns will receive exposure to all areas
of CSBS including professional development, regulatory policy, legislative
relations, and the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System. Applicants will be
interviewed by a cross-section team of CSBS staff members.
Candidates will be invited to accept one of the following intern
opportunities. Archive Internship The Conference of State Bank Supervisors
(CSBS) Communications Department is seeking an intern to compile, catalog, and
archive the organization's historical documents. This
individual will work with CSBS staff to identify historically significant
items from CSBS' archived materials, catalog those items by date and subject
matter, and develop narratives that meaningfully convey CSBS's growth and
development over the past 100+ years. At the conclusion of
the internship, this individual will present their relevant findings to CSBS
staff. Applicants should be highly organized, detail-
oriented, and capable of consolidating and summarizing large amounts of
information. Background or interest in financial affairs
desired, but not required. Students with majors in library
information science or library sciences preferred. Education and Experience A
minimum of two (2) years of college-level courses. The
applicant should be at least a rising junior in good standing. Either a
declared major or minor in business, accounting, economics, political science,
English, history, human resources or a related field. A general interest in
banking or financial services. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Written
communication - able to write clearly and effectively present ideas and to
document activities; to communicate information in a succinct and organized
manner; to read and interpret written information. Research and analysis -
able to understand and interpret financial data and organize that data in a
presentable fashion. Meeting management/group facilitation - able to
facilitate meetings and build consensus among various parties. Results
orientation - able to work at a fast pace and meet critical deadlines.
Planning and organizing - able to manage and prioritize multiple, complex
projects. Knowledge of current financial and banking issues. Working
Conditions Office environment. CSBS pays an hourly wage for a 7.5 hour work
day. Local commuting assistance is also provided. To Apply,
