San Jose State University's Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library supports the
University's guiding principles of Spartan Pride, Unbounded Learning, Helping
and Caring, Agility through Technology, and 21st Century Spaces by
facilitating student learning and success, faculty teaching, research and
scholarship, community engagement and creative uses of technology. In
partnership with the San Jose Public Library, we provide all library users
with access to information and learning resources in digital and print formats
and foster lifelong learning opportunities for the entire community.

  
The purpose of this position is to provide leadership and planning for the
digital scholarship and contributions (from SJSU faculty, offices, and
students) to the San Jose State University Scholar Works Institutional
Repository; establish copyright permissions for publications; maintain
submissions from contributors; provide outreach and expertise to campus
faculty; promote and publicize the repository; create and upload digital
files; and create metadata in approved formats. The Institutional Repository
Coordinator provides high-level expertise and leadership support to Library
Administration in formulating, developing, and modifying library policies and
procedures for the management of the University's Scholar Works Institutional
Repository. The incumbent assists in hiring student
assistants; schedules student assistants and monitors annual student assistant
budget allocations.
