Manage the Museum's digital archives and media resources, to include developing procedures, standards, and instructions for creating, storing, integrating, and maintaining vital resources related to Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts collections. In collaboration with the collections, curatorial, public relations and information technology staff, the Collection Information Specialist will improve research, exhibits, education, collections management, and public access to Museum assets through the use of current information technology. The essential functions are: manages technologies and data, relating to the Museum's collections of art, archives, record photos (prints, slides, digital images), and digital images of objects and exhibitions; manages requests for rights and reproductions for collections objects from the public and other institutions; manages curatorial content on the Museum's website and social networking sites (i.e., Facebook, etc.); performs or assists with curatorial and collections management functions. The employee will report to the senior Museum Curator III (Art).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·         Manages technologies and data relating to the Museum's collection of art, archives, library, record photos (prints, slides, digital images), and digital images of objects and exhibitions using computerized information systems following departmental and professional guidelines in order to assure the accuracy of all records and adherence to data standards.

·         Manages requests for rights and reproductions for collections objects from the public and other institutions following Museum's policies and procedures as they relate to the use of works from the Museum's permanent collection for reproduction in printed and digital media.

·         Manages curatorial content on the Museum's website and social networking sites, i.e., Facebook, etc., utilizing descriptive curatorial and public relations materials and photography following professional and departmental guidelines in order to improve public access to Museum collections.

·         Performs or assists with curatorial and collections management functions following department and professional guidelines, in order to provide support to the Curators.
