Position:

The Albert S. Cook Library invites applications for a 12-month Web Services
Librarian I or Librarian II position beginning Spring 2016. Under the
direction of the Information Technology Librarian, the Web Services Librarian

plays a key role in providing an outstanding library experience for students,
faculty and staff of the University.

  
Qualifications:

Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited
library school. Demonstrated experience working with applications and websites
using PHP, SQL, HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Experience working

with open source applications, including Drupal. Knowledge of methods for
gathering user needs in order to produce user-centered solutions. Demonstrate
skill in instruction and reference assistance. Excellent interpersonal skills

and ability to work in a collaborative environment. Appointment will be made
at the rank of Librarian I or II, depending on experience.

  
Responsibilities:

Play a key role in providing an outstanding library experience for students,
faculty and staff of the University. Provide primary web application
development support for the library, enhancing student learning and research,
faculty

scholarship, and overall library services, resources and operations. Focus on
services that improve the user experience for the University's students,
faculty, and staff, collaborate with library staff and university personnel to
develop applications using a variety of web languages, techniques and
technologies. Participate in strategic planning and needs assessment to
provide user-centered solutions that reflect a thorough understanding of the
University community's

library and research needs.
