The ALCTS PARS Preservation Metadata Interest Group seeks proposals to present on the

topic "Current Approaches to Implementing Preservation Metadata” at the 2016 ALA

Annual Conference in Orlando, FL.

Our program is scheduled for Saturday, June 25 from 3:00–4:00 p.m. and will feature two 20-

minute presentations as well as time for Q&A.

When institutions are in the initial stages of establishing a commitment to digital preservation, the standards can often be overwhelming. It helps to know what tools and approaches have helped others establish a commitment to preservation metadata. The program aims to feature case studies and practical examples of how libraries, archives, and museums are implementing preservation metadata practices that support long-term preservation of digital materials.

Proposal ideas might touch on (but are not limited to):

To submit a proposal, please provide your name, email address, and the title and abstract of

your presentation in the following Google form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1CtDpJRt2kL8snYJtx6EBiV4CPxM2UfWo2on2fzyeNBo/viewform

The deadline for proposals is 5:00 p.m. Pacific, Monday, May 2, 2016.
