Developing In-House Digital Tools in Library Spaces – Official Call for
Contributors

http://www.igi-global.com/publish/call-for-papers/call-details/2188

CALL FOR CONTRIBUTORS

We are seeking authors who would like to contribute chapters to an upcoming
book, Developing In-House Digital Tools in Library Spaces, edited by Laura
Costello and Meredith Powers, to be published by IGI-Global.

Developing In-House Digital Tools in Library Spaces will collect use cases
of libraries that have taken the development process into their own hands,
through an internal or outsourced development team, and are creating their
own tools from scratch or building on top of existing library or open
source software. Chapters will go into detail about the products and their
development, including the organizational structure that enabled
development and any user feedback or testing processes. The volume will
cover organizational issues (such as internal and external collaboration
and overcoming institutional barriers), examples of library automation,
case studies of library development projects and products, and evaluations
of the impact and usefulness of in-house technologies.

This volume will be aimed at institutions hoping to put together technology
teams or who want to enable their existing staff to accomplish in-house
technology projects. It will also be useful for institutions with existing
functional technology teams looking for new projects and collaborations.
The proposed volume will be appropriate for public, academic, and other
types of libraries.
