The **Systems Integration Analyst** plays a key role in the development and
maintenance of all UA Libraries-related service infrastructure, including on-
premise, near-premise (i.e., UITS co-located), and off-premise (i.e. cloud)
resources. As part of the UX IT Operations work team, the Systems Integration
Analyst collaborates with other technology staff in administrating and
supporting current production and development systems, with a focus on Linux
server environments and associated hardware and software. This position
employs both traditional system administration skills as well as DevOps
practices to further the UA Libraries' ability to scale its service support

**Duties and Responsibilities**  
  
- Responsible for planning, engineering, and maintaining the integrity of the UA Libraries systems infrastructure environment, including operating, network, and other systems hardware, software, and associated tools and utilities.  
  
- Responsible for developing, promoting, and documenting systems infrastructure standards, policies, and procedures; conducting inventories of system components; and performing routine hardware and software audits to ensure compliance.  
  
In support of business processing requirements, and in accordance with
established IT policies and procedures, responsible for:

  
- Evaluating, installing, configuring, integrating, and maintaining operating system environments for workstations and servers.  
  
- Scheduling and performing software installations and upgrades for workstations and servers, and evaluation and installation of software patches.  
  
- Testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of operating system environments and related software applications.  
  
- Ensuring system and data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions, including implementing a schedule of system backups and database archiving operations, and participating in disaster recovery planning and drills.  
  
- Monitoring availability, capacity, performance, and security of server and workstation environments and related applications, responding to incidents to restore service availability, and analyzing problems to determine root cause and prevent recurrence.  
  
- Responding to complex technical and workstation support requests from users and technical staff.  
  
**Minimum Qualifications:**  
  
To be considered for the Senior level:

  
Five years of progressively responsible systems administration and/or
programming experience including the analysis, planning, installation,
configuration, and maintenance of hardware, operating and applications systems
and utilities; OR

  
Associate's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Information
Technology or related field AND four years of progressively responsible
systems administration and/or programming experience including the analysis,
planning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, operating
and applications systems and utilities; OR

  
Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Information
Technology or related field AND two years of progressively responsible system
administration and/or programming experience including the installation,
testing and maintenance of hardware, operating and applications systems and
utilities; OR,

  
Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

  
To be considered for the Principal level:

  
Six years of progressively responsible systems administration and/or
programming experience including the analysis, planning, installation,
configuration, and maintenance of hardware, operating and applications systems
and utilities, and at least two years of experience leading technical projects
and/or teams; OR

  
Associate's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Information
Technology or related field AND five years of progressively responsible
systems administration and/or programming experience including the analysis,
planning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, operating
and applications systems and utilities, with at least two years of experience
leading technical projects and/or teams; OR

  
Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

  
**Preferred Qualifications:**  
  
Strong customer service skills, including the ability to effectively
communicate and work with a diverse community of faculty, staff, and students.

  
Ability to work in a team-based environment, and continuously develop
knowledge and skills related to the position.

  
Ability to clearly define problems and use appropriate methods to determine
and implement solutions.

  
Experience with:

  
- Infrastructure administration of networked security, storage, and virtualization solutions, e.g. network switches and firewalls, SAN systems, VMware ESXi, etc.  
- System administration of Linux-based servers and workstations, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring.  
- Installation and support of LAMP stack applications and underlying components, e.g. Apache Httpd, PHP, MySQL, and Drupal.  
- Installation, integration, and support of authentication and authorization services, e.g. Shibboleth, CAS, Grouper, LDAP, Active Directory, etc.  
- Writing and maintaining SQL scripts and reporting processes.  
- Familiarity with:  
- Configuration management tools, e.g. Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt, etc.  
- Software version control tools, e.g. Subversion, Git, etc.  
- Continuous integration tools, e.g. Jenkins.  
- Software development management tools, e.g. Atlassian Jira, Redmine, etc.  
- Service desk management tools, e.g. BMC Remedy.  
  
Knowledge of:

  
- Current IT security practices and protocols.  
- DevOps practices and approaches.  
- Amazon Web Services technology and service design.  
- Modern software development protocols, principles, and practices, e.g. HTTP, REST, MVC, etc.  
  
Preferred for the Senior level:

  
Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Information
Technology or related field AND three years of progressively responsible
systems administration and/or programming experience including the analysis,
planning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, operating
and applications systems and utilities.

  
Preferred for the Principal level:

  
Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Information
Technology or related field AND five years of progressively responsible
systems administration and/or programming experience including the analysis,
planning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, operating
and applications systems and utilities, with at least two years of experience
leading technical projects and/or teams.

  
**Posted Rate of Pay:**  
  
Senior Level: $52,500 - $57,500 Annually; Principal Level: $61,500 - $66,500
