The Code4Lib BC chapter is hosting another unconference in Vancouver
this December -- but we're looking for a new home for 2017! Would you
be interested in hosting?

Code4Lib BC provides a venue for people in library and allied fields to
get together to collaborate, innovate, learn, and share. Our annual
unconference provides opportunities to present lightning talks on
projects you're currently working on or wondering about, combined with
breakout sessions that allow participants to get their unconference on.
The atmosphere is friendly, open, collaborative, and inclusive. Since
it's an unconference, organizers fade into the background and
participants take ownership of the agenda by stepping forward to lead
breakouts, propose topics, and generate participation. You can read
more about Code4Lib BC's past events on our wiki [1], as well as more
about the Code4Lib community [2].

Code4Lib BC aims to create connections and professional development
opportunities for folks from British Columbia and surrounding areas.
We've been hosting events in Vancouver since 2013, but we can't create
province-wide connections in Vancouver alone. We're looking for a group
or organization (formal or informal) to consider bringing Code4Lib BC
outside of its Vancouver roots, and on the road to other parts of BC.
Could this be you?

The current organizing committee is comprised of special, academic, and
public library librarians and technicians with no specific hosting
institution. We would be delighted to discuss logistics and other
considerations with any individuals or groups who are interested in
hosting Code4Lib BC 2017.

Interested? Shoot us an email ([log in to unmask]) and
tell us your thoughts!

Meanwhile, don't forget that we'll be hosting another unconference in
Vancouver on December 1 and 2. Registration will be opening soon --
keep an eye out for details.
