I think whether or not there have been incidents of harassment is actually
pretty irrelevant. It's about signaling what the values of our community
are. No one should wait for harassment to occur before doing something
about it when preventative measures are available and not particularly
onerous. I appreciate everyone's willingness to discuss but there's
precious little downside to having a community statement and a lot of good
that can be done.
