Excellent!... Thanks so much to our DC area colleagues for this initiative.

Crystal City has reasonably priced hotels (between $100 and $200), and in
walking distance from the metro, which is a very convenient way to get to
downtown.

I agree that in the cherry blossoms season accommodations are expensive. On
top of that, the climate change has made kind of unpredictable when the
cherry trees will blossom. We see frustrated tourists around the city every
year during  during that season.
