Dear Colleagues,

Please join us for a conference designed to bring together the archivists who preserve banking and financial history materials and the historians who use those materials: Innovative Solutions for Archives and Financial Crises. The conference, hosted by the eabh & St. Louis Fed, will take place on May 11-12, 2017 in St. Louis, Missouri.

On May 11, archivists will present innovations in archival work, including bank and central bank archives.  On May 12, financial historians will present their research based on materials from bank and central bank archives.  The conference will provide both archivists and historians the opportunity to learn about the unique materials held in central bank archives, the current state of archival work, and insights into how scholars use these collections. Confirmed speakers include Jefferson Bailey (Internet Archive), Laura Linard (Harvard), Harold James (Princeton/IMF Historian), and Gary Richardson (University of California-Irvine and former Federal Reserve System Historian).

You can find the program and further conference related information here: https://research.stlouisfed.org/conferences/innovative-solutions-for-archives/

Online registration is open: https://research.stlouisfed.org/conferences/innovative-solutions-for-archives/register

In addition, the St. Louis Fed will host a pre-conference workshop on 10 May, run by the Society of American Archivists (SAA).  The pre-conference workshop requires separate registration and participants will receive course credit towards completion of SAA’s DAS Certificate. The workshop is titled: Tool Selection and Management:  Finding the Right Tool for the Job. Pre-conference workshop registration must be completed directly with SAA, and not as part of the conference registration.

Spaces for all events are limited and will be assigned on a first come first serve basis. https://research.stlouisfed.org/conferences/innovative-solutions-for-archives/register
