University of North Carolina Wilmington's Randall Library is seeking a Web and Applications Developer for our highly collaborative Library IT department. This position works as part of a (great!) team in the development and maintenance of websites, software and applications developed or used by the library. For more details and to apply, visit: https://jobs.uncw.edu/postings/8245 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated experience developing web applications using PHP MVC frameworks such as Laravel or Yii Demonstrated experience managing and maintaining open source software Demonstrated experience with JavaScript and JavaScript libraries such as JQuery and node.js Experience with other programing technologies such as Ruby, Perl or Python Demonstrated experience with database technologies such as SQL, MySQL or PostgreSQL Demonstrated experience with creating and designing websites using web technologies such as CSS, HTML and JavaScript Demonstrated experience with responsive design and mobile design standards Ability to work in a team environment Preferred Skills and experience: Experience working with Windows and Linux operating systems Experience working with a variety of software APIs Experience with content management systems, specifically Drupal, including developing themes and modules Experience developing mobile web services and/or apps for mobile platforms (iOS, Android etc) Strong organization, communication documentation and customer service skills Knowledge of version control systems such as Git Knowledge of usability, accessibility, security and coding best practices Interest in open source technology development Knowledge of library operations, services, systems, initiatives and mission ____________________________________________________________________ Laura K.
