[Please excuse any cross-postings] Best Practices Exchange 2017: Call For Proposals Balancing Preservation and Engagement Best Practices Exchange (BPE) 2017 November 6-8, 2017 Boston, Massachusetts The Best Practices Exchange Program Committee invites submissions of session proposals for the 2017 Conference to be held November 6-8, 2017 on Columbia Point in Boston, Massachusetts. The BPE is an un-conference that focuses on the management and the preservation of digital government information and brings together practitioners to discuss their real-world experiences, including best practices and lessons learned. This conference is being jointly hosted by the State Library of Massachusetts, the Edward M. Kennedy Institute, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library, and the Massachusetts Archives. This year's conference theme is Balancing Preservation and Engagement. Deadline for proposals is August 15, 2017. Following the format of past BPE Conferences<https://bpexchange.wordpress.com/welcome/previous-conferences/>, we encourage you, the attendees, to present your projects and experiences, successes, failures, and lessons learned. It is anticipated that sessions will last 75 minutes, with the final 15 minutes devoted to discussion and engagement with the audience. We encourage presentations to be 60 minutes (one speaker), 30 minutes (two speakers) or 20 minutes (three speakers). We also encourage submission of 5 to 10 minute lightning talks. Noted topics of interest include: * Open Data and Data Reuse * Balancing Security and Access * Collaborative Projects and Workflows Proposals should include a session abstract of 100 words or less and the name, title, email, and organization of each presenter. Proposals may be submitted individually for shorter presentations or for a full session with multiple speakers. Shorter proposed presentations will be paired with others by the Program Committee.
