I've lived in the desert— like, the lizards and tumbleweeds and 'Camp Green Lake before the curse was broken' kind of desert—most of my life. But I’m still bowled over by this southern summer heat every single day. How does it manage to zap a person's energy so quickly? Is it possible to sweat out all the water in your body?? And why do I exist on the same planet as mosquitos???
