We hear a lot about how to handle difficult patrons, cybersecurity, and protecting patron data, but have you thought about your library's equipment and even the building itself?

Join us on September 21, for an Amigos Library Services online conference, Privacy and Security for Today's Library, where we will explore why security and privacy is a hot topic for libraries.

Dr. Steve Albrecht, author of, Library Security: Better Communication, Safer Facilities, will kick off the conference with his opening keynote presentation: "Assessing Library Facility Security: Think Like a Security Consultant." Dr. Albrecht's keynote will be followed by a series of concurrent sessions throughout the day on topics that include using the Dark Web, privacy strategies, hacking, vendor and third party applications security, disabilities and privacy, teaching privacy and cybersecurity, and developing a privacy policy. Deborah Caldwell-Stone, Deputy Director of ALA's Office for Intellectual Freedom, and Michael Robinson, past-chair of the ALA Intellectual Freedom Privacy Subcommittee and Head of Systems at University of Alaska-Anchorage will conclude their conference with their presentation "Navigating the Changing Landscape of Library Privacy."

Registration is free for Amigos member libraries. If you are not an Amigos member, you can take advantage of group or individual registration at an early bird rate until September 8. We also offer a discounted rate for current library school students.
