We’ve launched http://labs.loc.gov/ to provide a space for open experimentation with Library digital collections. We want to highlight the visualizations, research, and innovation that machine-readable collections and data make possible and to help others explore what's possible. On the new site you’ll find: • LC for Robots – a collection of machine-readable data sources and APIs for Library of Congress collections. o We’ve included a few step-throughs in Juypter notebooks (on Github) to help people get started, which we hope folks will adapt and share. o This page also includes a curated list of stuff (art, tools, visualizations) people are making with the collections • Experiments – a space where we can try things out in public • Beyond Words – a crowdsourcing app featuring WWI-era newspapers • Events – upcoming and products from the past • Meta – presentations, papers, videos, and stuff we’re making about what we’re doing If you want to help spread the word (and we would love that!) please use our new twitter handle (@LC_Labs) or the hashtag #BuiltwithLC so we can track responses and feedback. We are so excited to share this with you and our community and we look forward to working with you in the very near future! Warmly, Kate, Abbey, Meghan, and Jaime National Digital Initiatives Library of Congress [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>
