Hi folks, The Duty Officer co-organizers are looking for a few more folks who want to help the conference by serving as online Duty Officers. *You do not have to be on-site to be an online Duty Officer*. This is a great chance for those who want to help with the conference, but are otherwise unable to physically attend the conference. Online duty officers will provide online assistance to online attendees and community members in the various online code4lib platforms, primarily Slack, IRC, and the #c4l18 conference hashtag feed. An online DO shift is shorter - two hours - during conference hours and could include one or two on-call shifts after conference hours. To qualify to be an online duty officer, you must meet the following two requirements: - Attendance of at least one previous code4lib annual conference - Attend mandatory training - Online DO training will take place in an online webinar the week before the main conference. Bonus qualifications include: - Managerial/supervisory experience - Online moderator/community manager experience - De-escalation training - Active bystander training If you wish to volunteer as a duty officer, please fill out the form at https://goo.gl/forms/Mv4AsmoFtqUcyh4Q2 indicating if you are interested in being an online DO. DO co-organizers, in consultation with the Local Planning Committee [LPC], will create a draft list of volunteers. LPC representatives will then publish the list later in December to the community and collect anonymous feedback to ensure any community concerns are taken into account before the volunteer list is finalized.
