Greetings:

In July 2017, work on the Developing a Framework for Measuring Reuse of Digital Objects<https://reuse.diglib.org/> project began. A one-year grant funded program from IMLS (LG-73-17-0002-17), the project is conducting a formal needs assessment of the Digital Library community to determine desired functionality for a future reuse assessment toolkit. This toolkit will compile available resources, best practices, and use cases for studying the reuse of digital assets held by cultural heritage and research organizations.

Measuring Reuse Project in 2017

The team completed several key objectives during the beginning months of the grant project, including:

*         Formation of the project's Advisory Board<https://reuse.diglib.org/advisory-board/>

* A survey that solicited the current community practices around assessing digital content use and reuse

* An in-person and virtual focus group sessions, which explored themes related to use and reuse

* An introduction to the project at the 2017 DLF Forum

Measuring Reuse Project Goals for 2018

The project team will continue to solicit data during 2018, with the grant project finishing in June 2018. The team will:

* Perform additional in-person and virtual focus groups

* Solicit a follow up survey

* Compile and analyze results from data collection

* Identify a series of use cases and functional requirements for a future content reuse assessment toolkit

How can you participate?

Those interested in knowing more about the project, or potentially participating in a future survey or focus group, should reach out to a team member<https://reuse.diglib.org/project-team/>.
