The California Digital Library (CDL) has started recruitment for the below positions. These are great opportunities for customer-oriented self-starters. At the California Digital Library (CDL), we believe passionately that the library, in all its forms, is critically important to the vital work of students, scholars and the public. As a University of California (UC) systemwide library, CDL provides services to and on behalf of the UC system as a partner and collaborator to the UC campus libraries. As a globally-connected digital library, CDL occupies a unique position between the local UC campuses and the global digital library infrastructure. The user base for CDL services and programs includes UC faculty, students and library staff; the patrons of the consortia in which the UC Libraries participate; and the many people worldwide who benefit from UC’s open access offerings. · Collection Assessment Analyst: As a member of the Licensed Content Group within the CDL’s Collection Development and Management Program, the Collection Assessment Analyst develops and implements assessment methodologies for systemwide online content expenditures totaling nearly $50M annually, to inform systemwide library collection development and ensure that UC’s shared library collections remain responsive to the University’s programmatic and budgetary needs. Working with a wide variety of data sources, the Assessment Analyst performs complex data analyses to support evidence-based decision-making, including collecting, analyzing, maintaining, interpreting, and reporting on collection usage and acquisitions data for CDL-licensed resources. The Collection Assessment Analyst actively participates in and/or leads UC library collaborative activities focused on collection analysis and keeps abreast of current developments in the field. Apply here: https://jobs.ucop.edu/applicants/Central?quickFind=60892 · Licensing Analyst: As a member of the Licensed Content Group within the CDL’s Collection Development and Management Program, the Licensing Analyst provides services in the area of license management, including drafting, editing and redacting complex licensing contracts to secure advantageous terms that meet UC Libraries service goals and ensure compliance with University policies, collaborating with colleagues and legal staff on license development and interpretation, interpreting license provisions in the electronic resource management system (ERMS) for use by UC Libraries staff, communicating about license information with vendors and campuses, and maintaining the department’s central license archive including obtaining signatures and digitally storing and posting licenses. The Licensing Analyst also assists with related functions and works on special projects as assigned, such as collecting and analyzing usage data, producing reports or announcements for the UC library community, and participating in the life-cycle management of electronic resources.
