Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Library seeks a creative and service-oriented Repository Librarian. The successful candidate will develop innovative, customized library services in a dynamic environment. Working directly with OHSU faculty, staff, and students, the Repository Librarian develops and delivers services in support of the library’s digital repositories. As the leader of a growing program with high user demand, the Repository Librarian works collaboratively and proactively with the OHSU community, prioritizing needs and demonstrating results. The Repository Librarian fosters a culture of diversity and inclusion, knowledge sharing, and user orientation. As a member of the Library Faculty, the Repository Librarian conducts teaching, scholarship, and service that contribute to the effectiveness of the Library, the University, and the profession. The position participates in planning, policy formation, and decision-making relating to library services, collections, and technologies. *The position will:* - Develop and deliver a robust suite of digital repository services for OHSU. Collaborate with a lively, cross-functional team to research, test, implement, and manage services and technology - Create and teach classes, workshops, and instruction sessions for the OHSU community on topics such as repository procedures, best practices, research strategies, visual and information literacy, ethics and compliance; provide ongoing, customized consultation, training, and support to users - Develop an engaged, collaborative community around institutional digital assets; work with the OHSU community to develop shared digital collections - Lead ongoing, regular assessment of repository services and technologies; work with library and external staff to identify and prioritize support needs and systems improvements - Contribute to regional, national, and international discourse on digital assets management and institutional repositories; maintain and promote awareness of standards, trends, and best practices - Manage institutional guidelines for describing, managing, and delivering digital assets; support compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and local information policies *Position Conditions/Qualifications:* - Accredited graduate degree in appropriate discipline (library and information science, education, computer science, or related area) - Minimum of two years of direct experience with digital repositories, preferably in an academic or health sciences setting; extensive knowledge of digital repository technologies, standards, and best practices - Experience working with end users in a library environment - Knowledge of teaching and learning methods for adult learners - Demonstrated success in leading projects for cross-functional teams; ability to collaborate with colleagues in libraries, IT, health sciences research and education, and creative fields - Very strong user orientation; knowledge of user experience principles and best practices - Outstanding analytical, writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills; ability to represent the library effectively and positively to diverse audiences - Demonstrated experience with relevant technical and descriptive standards; ability to use judgment in interpreting and applying standards - Knowledge of HIPAA and FERPA as they apply to electronic records and digital assets; ability to judiciously and diplomatically interpret policies and guidelines in a service setting - Demonstrated ability to contribute service and scholarship to the profession *Preferred Qualifications:* - Experience with Samvera and/or MerlinOne software - Experience collaborating with academic faculty, staff, and students - Formal experience or training in project management - Experience applying HIPAA and/or FERPA principles to digital repositories *To Apply:* Please visit ohsujobs.com and search for IRC65803.
