Dear ToS group,
I hope many of you have seen the CFP for this year’s DLF Forum. If not, details are at the end of this email.
We would like to propose a working breakfast or lunch session for this group to give an update on our progress to date. It may be hard to project what we will have done by
mid-October, but it may also help some sub-groups scope work with that date in mind.
If you’ve never been to DLF before, working meals provide an informal opportunity for reporting and discussion, as well as a chance to talk about complex ideas face-to-face.
Travel is hard for most all of us, so it’s doubtful that all sub-group leaders will be able to attend (in fact, Shea won’t be able to join us!), but I hope that we will be able to have one person from each group able to attend. If not, we’ll figure another
way to facilitate a report and discussion.
Please let us know if you have any questions/concerns about this plan. Thank you again for your engagement with this topic. It’s exciting to see the various subgroups start
to meet!

CFP
season is upon us! Have a great idea for a session to share in Las Vegas? You’re in luck! We have issued Calls for Proposals for our three conferences happening this October:
If you haven’t yet heard, this year’s pre-conference, Learn@DLF, will be structured entirely as a workshop day. Through engaging, hands-on sessions, attendees will gain experience
with new tools and resources, exchange ideas, and develop and share expertise with fellow community members. Learn more and check out the CFP here:
https://forum2018.diglib.org/learnatdlf/
Submit for one conference or all three (though, different proposals for each, please)! Session options range from 60-second Minute Madness sessions at DigiPres to daylong
workshops at Learn@DLF, with many options in between.
The
deadline for all three opportunities is May 7 at 11:59pm Pacific Time.
