Members of the Audiovisual Metadata Platform (AMP) project team at Indiana University Libraries, the University of Texas at Austin School of Information, and AVP are pleased to announce the release of a public white paper reporting on the outcomes of a planning project and workshop conducted in fall 2017 to explore design and development of an open source software platform to support mass description of audiovisual content. This proposed system, known as AMP, is intended to utilize automated mechanisms linked together with human labor in a recursive and reflexive workflow to generate and manage metadata at scale for libraries and archives. This work was generously supported by a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
Feedback on the report is very much welcomed and may be sent to any AMP project team member.
