NONCONFIDENTIAL // EXTERNAL

Good morning,

Registration for Digital Preservation 2018 is now open!! Once again, Digital Preservation is being hosted in conjunction with the DLF Forum.

Our program committee is hard at work reviewing proposals, and it’s shaping up to be another great Digital Preservation conference. This year our conference theme is “In/visible Work” and we are absolutely thrilled to have Snowden Becker deliver the keynote, “To See Ourselves as Others See Us: On Archives, Visibility, and Value.” If you’d like a sneak peak of what’s in store for the rest of the program, head on over to the community voting app and help us shape the best program by casting your vote.

In addition, we’re also working hard to improve the experience, inclusivity, and networking for our conference attendees! This year the digipres planning committee is piloting a brand new NDSA mentorship program, based on the successful DLF Forum Mentors. For more information on the Mentorship program: http://ndsa.org/meetings/#digital-preservation-mentorship-program

We hope to see you there!

For further information on all three programs (DLF Forum, Learn@DLF, and Digital Preservation) please see the message below. You can register for the DLF Forum and Digital Preservation here: https://forum2018.diglib.org/register/

Best,

-Aaron, on behalf of the Digital Preservation 2018 Planning Committee

Subject: [External] DLF Forum & NDSA's Digital Preservation 2018 Registration open!

The time has come! We are delighted to announce the opening of registration for the 2018 Forum and Digital Preservation 2018, taking place October 15-18 just outside of Las Vegas. Be among the first to secure the earlybird rate and start planning for yet another memorable event.

Register here: https://forum2018.diglib.org/register/

You’ll join guests like Anasuya Sengupta, our Forum keynote speaker, who will present her talk, “Decolonizing Knowledge, Decolonizing the Internet: an agenda for collective action.” Stay for DigiPres and hear Snowden Becker deliver her keynote, “To See Ourselves as Others See Us: On Archives, Visibility, and Value.”

Our full program will be released in the coming weeks, but to get a taste of what will be on the docket, check out our community voting on the proposals that were submitted - and while you’re there, help form the program by submitting a vote or two! Program planning committees for each event will use the community’s input, in combination with results from a concurrent peer review process, to inform its decisions about the conference programs.

Registration is not yet open for Learn@DLF, which takes place on the pre-conference day, October 14! Let us know on the registration form if you’d like more information, and we’ll be sure to email you when it is possible to register.

It’s never too early. Register now to join us!
