Digital Scholarship Technology Manager Drew University seeks applications for a Digital Scholarship Technology Manager. This position is 12-month, full-time with an anticipated start date of Summer 2018. The Digital Scholarship Technology Manager is a new position designed to advance the digital humanities (DH) and digital scholarship (DS) at Drew University. Reporting to the Director of Instructional Technologies, the incumbent will work in collaboration with technologists, librarians, faculty, and students. An initial focus will be Digital Drew, an interdisciplinary initiative funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to strengthen inclusive, integrative, project-based digital pedagogies across the institution. Key Responsibilities: Supports technologies used in the university’s digital humanities (DH) and digital scholarship (DS) initiatives, including but not limited to web hosting and web applications available from Drew Domains; Provides direct support and consultation to faculty involved in digital projects; Conducts training workshops on current and emerging DH tools; Supervises and mentors part-time student Technology Fellows; Participates in DH outreach and advocacy initiatives; May participate directly in DH projects, in collaboration with faculty, instructional technologists, librarians, staff, and students; Participates in development of DH/DS lab facilities, computing, hardware and peripherals, and software; Stays current in the field of DH and disseminates information to the campus community. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree and two years of relevant experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education. Significant experience with current-generation DH/DS web applications and tools (Omeka, WordPress, etc.) in teaching and research environments Experience with web hosting services and application management principles and tools, including but not limited to cPanel and DNS management Ability to train, supervise, and mentor student technical assistants Experience with DH lab facilities and services Demonstrated communication, collaboration, and problem-solving, skills for successful partnerships with instructional technologists, faculty and staff, and students Demonstrated ability to take initiative on assigned and new projects, and to work both independently and as part of a team.
