Well 500mb is a lot, that could present a challenge. GitHub's limit is apparently 1gb though [1] and I don't see anything about a lower limit for Pages sites, I would assume there isn't one. Galen Charlton has mentioned to me that Equinox could assist with domain management but I'll let him chime in here. I don't necessarily see an issue with having hosting and domain registry handled by separate entities.
